Planner Spotlight

Aileen Hawes, CMP, UPS

Aileen Hawes has been a member of the KY Bluegrass Chapter of MPI since 1995. She joined UPS in 1989 after more than 15 years as a stay-at-home mom, part-time office manager, and legal assistant. She is presently a Public Affairs Specialist and Corporate Meeting Professional.

Shortly after joining UPS Public Affairs, Aileen’s expertise as a stickler for details and her strong communication and organizational skills were recognized as she moved into corporate meeting planning. As a corporate meeting professional Aileen plans VIP meetings and events for top level UPS management, including board of director meetings, domestic and international dignitary visits, as well as corporate executive visits to UPS facilities in Louisville, KY. Hosting local sporting events and KY Derby Festival events as well as public affairs activities relating to local and state legislative issues are all part of Aileen’s responsibilities.

Aileen is a former board member of KBCMPI and for the past several years has served as the KBCMPI CMP Study Group Leader. She obtained her CMP designation in 2000.

Catherine Clements, Marriott International 

Catherine Clements has been a member of the KBCMPI Chapter since 2005.  After graduating from Bellarmine University with a BA in Business Administration she joined GE Appliances as a Merchandising Specialist.  Catherine joined the Hyatt Regency Lexington Sales and Catering Team in 2002 where she served as the Senior Sales Manager, handling both the corporate & individual travel market for the hotel.  Currently, she is a business development field manager for Marriott International. Catherine is the youngest of seven siblings and enjoys spending time with her husband Joe, and three children.
